Established over 100 years ago, Brigade Cricket Club is a highly successful club offering weekly junior and senior training sessions and competitive matches plus recreational level cricket (including outreach and an annual six-week summer youth scheme) for the local community. In light of Covid-19 regulations, training sessions involve smaller groups of players and so additional equipment is required to minimise cross-contamination of kit. BCC applied for funding towards putting together “coaching starter packs” with a few pieces of equipment in each – to help welcome their members and the wider community back to club sport within new Covid-19 restrictions. Alderman McClintock acknowledged the great work carried out by the Club and endorsed this application. On her recommendation, a grant of £750 was awarded.
