RAISING AUTISM AWARENESS
Here to help in any way possible, a listening ear, a shoulder to cry on, and answer any questions, COS is a strong support group for families with autism run by families with autism. They are in the process of creating a new centre for children and young people and their families in a large unit on Springtown Industrial Estate where they can hold Saturday Club and information sessions previously run at a building now demolished. Much of the work has already been undertaken by parents with relevant trade skills, and they now sought funding to install tiling in two bathrooms. The Committee praised COS for their hard work and effort to provide a valuable space for autistic children, and granted the £1,000 requested.
