Friends of Loreto College, Coleraine

Having adopted Tieve Tara House – the former old convent building within the school grounds, Friends of Loreto College sought to transform it into a cross community hub.  However, the B1 listed building is in desperate need of repair and they applied for a seed corn grant towards professional fees to explore the feasibility of restoring the building.  The Committee recognised this was an unusual request but one which required a larger grant in order to make an impact and help integrate the school into the local community by bringing this building (originally founded through a religious order and which would have been beautiful in its day) back into use.  A grant of £2,000 was awarded.
