Mountjoy United Football Club

Founded in 1974, Mountjoy Utd FC are one of the most established junior teams in the Tyrone area offering mini soccer (small sided games delivered by experienced set of coaches twice a week) for all primary school aged children and competitive football for all secondary school pupils.  Their current stock of equipment is becoming below standard and the lack of fit-for-purpose kit and need to share poses Covid-related health and safety concerns.  So the Club applied for funding towards 125 new footballs that will cover a range of different sizes compliant with regulations in effect for each age group and facilitate a coaching programme that enables every participant to have a football.  They also hope the new equipment will lead to increased social inclusion, physical activity and community involvement and, in turn, lead to improved mental health and well-being for those connected to the Club.  The Committee was content to endorse a grant of £700 from The Clothworkers’ NI Fund towards the range of footballs costed in the application.
