Omagh Academicals Rugby Football Club

Based within Super Output Area Strule which lies within the top 19% most deprived areas in NI, Omagh Academicals RFC’s facilities are used by over 20 community organisations including the NI Blood Service; Young Farmers; various sports, interest and social clubs; charities; Scout, Guide and Youth Groups; churches and local businesses.  Focusing on providing sporting and social opportunities for everyone in the community, especially as they emerge from lockdowns, Omagh Accies sought financial assistance with the purchase of additional gym equipment.  Not only for use by members and teams for training sessions to help develop the sport, the equipment will also be used for junior strength and conditioning sessions in their ‘Minis’ section – as well as health and wellbeing programmes for the wider community, including senior groups and other local organisations who make use of facilities at the Club grounds.  The Committee was pleased to agree a grant of £750 from The Clothworkers’ NI Fund towards the overall cost of additional equipment.
