St Mary’s GAC, Faughanvale

Founded in 1933, St Mary’s Faughanvale GAA has a membership of over 400 with 22 teams that play Gaelic Football, Ladies Gaelic Football, Camogie and Hurling at youth level.  The Club has also recently re-established Scor na Og and participates in County level competitions.  Keen to improve the health and wellbeing of a wide range of users from their rural community (especially adults and the elderly post-Covid), they sought funding towards the purchase of weights, gym mats and associated fitness equipment – offering both recreational and structured programmes from their Clubhouse.  Recognising the limited opportunities in the area, the Committee agreed a grant of £750 for the items costed in the Club’s application.
