VC Glendale Cycling Club, Dunmurry, Belfast

Established in 1981, VC Glendale promotes the safe use of bicycles – from a young age to beyond retirement – for a healthy and active mind and body, using the fun side of cycling for all sections of the community; and to promote cycling orientated activities without discrimination.  With a mission to get children and young people involved in cycling as a way of taking them off the streets and steering them away from anti-social behaviour – as well as simply encouraging them to become more active within the digital world we live in, the Club wished to purchase much needed equipment such as helmets, training mats, an elite roller and smart turbo trainers that will assist with the academy section and general sustainability of VC Glendale.  The Committee endorsed a grant of £750 from The Clothworkers’ NI Fund.
