7th Ballymena (All Saints) Scout Group

Providing a full programme for children and young people aged 6-18 in the Ballymena area, the Group planned to give their Scouts and Explorer Scouts the opportunity to attend the Lough Dan Scout Camp in Wicklow.  The venue attracts Scouts from all over Ireland, the UK and Europe and will enable those taking part to meet, interact with and learn from others.  The Group sought help to fund costs associated with camp fees and catering, which would allow their Scouts to enjoy six days of activities that would have otherwise been totally out of reach for most.  Understanding how the opportunity would offer canoeing, hill walking, learning traditional skills like backwoods cooking, a chance to make new discoveries and work together on many team building and personal development challenges, the Committee was happy to endorse a grant of £2,000 from the Clothworkers’ NI Fund.
