With over 50 young people using their facility throughout each week, 8th Tyrone Dromore Scouts felt it was important to make urgent improvements to ensure it is safe, secure and appropriate for everyone attending scout nights and wider community activities offered (especially those who are vulnerable or have disabilities). And, having suffered from damage caused by anti-social behaviour, they sought financial assistance with the purchase of a 2.4m high ‘V’ Mesh Security Fencing kit to deter would-be vandals. A grant of £1,000 from the Clothworkers’ NI Fund was endorsed. And this would allow any previous fund-raising undertaken by the Scouts to be used for improving their programmes to advance education, citizenship and community development opportunities.
