With its pigeon loft located in Ballyarnet, close to the spot where Amelia Earhart was forced to touch down due to bad weather and technical problems in 1932, Rock Pigeon Club renamed itself the Amelia Earhart Flying Club in 2012 to mark the anniversary. Having recently secured funding to purchase a new anti-vandal proof metal container, this group of pigeon racing enthusiasts sought additional help to cover the costs of installing power and flooring. The Committee approved a grant of £750.
