Ards Football Club, County Down

Established in 1900, Ards FC is a community sports club situated in the heart of North Down and offering recreational and social opportunities to those living in the Newtownards and surrounding areas of the Ards Peninsula.  One of the biggest sports clubs in the area with upwards of 250 members (80 adults and 170 boys and girls) and including a disability section, Ards FC sought funding towards the purchase of GPS monitors which will allow their volunteer coaches a chance to assess the fitness and overall health of players and enable them to tailor their training programmes and activities accordingly.  The Committee was content with the decision to offer a grant of £500 from The Clothworkers’ NI Fund towards three Apex GPS vests plus associated cabling and charge points.
