Every one of Ballymoney High’s 685 pupils is afforded the opportunity to reach their potential and, on this basis, external examinations results have continued to hit new high records over the past five years. Academic success is a combination of overlapping areas of Learning, Teaching and Pastoral Support – including all-important School Counsellors. A large number of pupils present in School with anxiety, stress and other mental health issues and (as funding was due to run out on 31/03/2023) the School sought financial assistance to retain the services of one Counsellor up until the end of June 2023. The Committee recognised the increase in anxiety and mental health issues in children and young people and a grant of £1,000 from the NW Schools’ Fund was agreed.
