Now in their 48th year, Boys Brigade Old Boys’ FC is a cross-community and family-based Club with close links across the Waterside area. And some of their 55 members (ages ranging from five to 72) have been involved since they were teenagers. They currently play in the North West Premier League, which is affiliated to the Irish Football Association, and sought funding towards new training tops for the team and bench jackets. As one of the founder members, Cllr Drew Thompson declared an interest. But also praised the Club for keeping their older members active in the sport. And, agreeing that bench jackets would help older age members to stay warm, the Committee agreed a grant of £995 to meet the total cost (including embroidery, etc) detailed in the application.
