Causeway Coast & Glens Covid-19 information and advice

Following a donation of £3k to Causeway Coast & Glens Borough Council’s emergency fund in March 2020, Patricia O’Brien (Funding Unit Manager) reported that The Irish Society’s contribution enabled the Council to increase the number of applications being supported.  She confirmed that “50 awards have been made so far totalling just over £84k; the funding is supporting the most vulnerable and isolated within local communities; 33 food banks have been set up in local communities, 45 projects are delivering food parcels, 31 projects are assisting with a prescription delivery service and 24 projects are delivering hygiene products.  Overall the most pressing need we are seeing is the provision and delivery of food and essential household items to the elderly, those shielding and families on low incomes”.  If you require assistance, call the COMMUNITY HELPLINE on 0808 802 0020.
