Hiring out conference rooms at The Sandel Centre to a variety of businesses, charities and organisations (as well as counsellors and psychotherapists), Causeway Voluntary Action Trust wanted to give all groups using the facilities a great experience by ensuring that everything runs smoothly when providing support or teaching. And, intending to install a Smart TV for users to easily connect to for showing slides, giving presentations, etc, they applied for funding to complete the project. Cllr Ivor Wallace confirmed the premises was a well-used centre for a wide range of community activities; the Trust ran a really tight ship; and he believed they were very deserving. Consequently, the Committee agreed a grant of £679 to cover the purchase of the TV, brackets and installation.
Centre Manager, Catriona Moss, wrote in January 2023 to confirm that, as a result of the Irish Society’s “very generous donation”, the TV had now been installed – “enabling CVAT to offer an easy and convenient method of displaying information for groups who use their conference rooms”. She also hoped to send us a photograph of the TV in situ.
