City of Derry Boating Club

Formed in 1861, CDBC is one of the oldest rowing clubs in Ireland – promoting the sport for all ages, genders and abilities.  Having loaned a rowing machine to Oakgrove Integrated School for a fundraising event – ‘Cash for Kids’, the Club believed a dedicated machine would give them more flexibility to coach rowing at schools and follow up with on-water sessions.  The Committee agreed the application was a strong one and, commended the good work the Club was undertaking in the community, offered a grant of £700 towards a standard ergometer quoted in the request.
