Clady & District Angling Club

In existence for 50+ years, this cross community angling club caters for approx. 170 junior, adult and pensioner members and runs a large program of competitions throughout the season.  In addition, the club hosts annual events for disabled members in association with partner organisations (eg, Mid Ulster Branch of Autism NI) and participates in Portglenone Enterprise Group’s Big Splash Festival every year.  And they work very closely with DAERA Inland Fisheries Group and AFBI Research Team on salmon stocks and fishery habitat.  But maintenance of their clubhouse has become something of a financial burden and they sought assistance with the cost of redecorating.  Councillor McGuigan was aware of the good work carried out by this club and on his recommendation a grant of £1,000 was agreed towards a complete re-paint, both externally and internally.
