Coleraine Bowling Club : ‘THE BANNSIDERS’

Founded in 1903 to further the sport of lawn bowls in the local area, Coleraine Bowling Club has more recently become aware of it’s social and environmental responsibilities to those residing near club facilities and of ‘out-spill’ from the current lighting system.  As a result, they sought funding to help replace the existing floodlights.  Learning that alternative LED lighting will offer more efficient coverage of the green with greater visibility but emit less light pollution and last longer than existing metal halide bulbs, the Committee agreed an HIS grant of £1,400 towards a new lighting system as detailed in the application.
