Connect and C.H.A.T (Creating Healthy Attitudes Together), Newcastle, Co. Down

Their Wellness Centre at 85 Central Promenade provides a coffee hub, meeting area and therapy space, as well as tailored services and support for those in need within the community.  Committed to the ethos of holistic health and development, Connect & C.H.A.T feel passionately about creating opportunities for connection and empowering individuals to take responsibility for their own wellness and good mental health.  Following the pandemic, some services have moved online – eg, their ‘Conversation Cuppa’ programme via Zoom.  The group wished to extend and continue their virtual services for users who cannot get to the Centre, and show others how to make connections and access support services via the Internet (Facebook, Zoom, Face-time, etc).  To facilitate this they applied for funding towards a new Apple Mac computer, printers, paper and ink.  The Committee endorsed a grant of £900 from The Clothworkers’ NI Fund.
