At the start of the summer visit of a delegation of the Society’s trustees, Dawn Wright was installed as the Deputy Governor for a 2-year term.
Governor of The Honourable The Irish Society, Vincent Keaveny, CBE said:
“I am delighted to have Dawn’s experience in the role of Deputy Governor as the Society continues the work of refreshing our future plans. Our vision is of a future where peaceful communities thrive, healthy waterways flourish and connections are strengthened between the Northwest and London and I know Dawn will play an important leadership role in ensuring the Society’s plans are impactful. I also wish to commend Edward Lord on their hard work over the last 2 years. Their leadership, at a time of significant change, has been instrumental in the Society renewing its mission for communities across the Northwest”
Dawn Wright said:
“I’m deeply honoured to be chosen by my fellow trustees to act as the Society’s Deputy Governor for the next 2 years and I look forward to listening to partners and stakeholders about how the work of the Society can continue to support communities. I also look forward to continuing to build relationships between the Society’s stakeholders in London and the Northwest. Thanks to Edward Lord for their hard work over the last 2 years – a time of significant change for the Society.”
Edward Lord OBE said:
“It has been a tremendous privilege to spend the last 2 years as Deputy Governor of the Society and having the opportunity to lead the most significant renewal of the Society’s future plans in recent years. The Society continues to play an important role in the Northwest in many ways, not least by distributing £250,000 annually to a range of organisations and causes. I know that Dawn will be a tremendous asset as that work continues in the years ahead.”
