Douglas Bartlett, Limavady

Having received quotes for producing 250 copies of a 32-page booklet on Sir Thomas Phillips (an interesting soldier / adventurer who features prominently in The Irish Society’s / Plantation of Ulster history), local historian Douglas Bartlett applied for a grant towards publication costs.  The Secretary confirmed this was not a profit-making enterprise and, keen to support local projects, the Committee was content to award an individual grant of £250 obo The Drapers’ Company.  Cllr Ivor Wallace added that he had met Mr Bartlett recently and he “certainly seemed to know his stuff”!
