Aiming to improve air quality and minimise the spread of Covid-19, especially now restrictions are being removed; mandatory testing is reduced; and re-infection becoming more prevalent, the Drumahoe Primary School’s PTA applied for funding for the purchase of HEPA Air Purifier/Filter Units. Research suggests the filters also help to remove dust, pollen, allergens and pollution – so should benefit children and teachers with asthma or similar respiratory difficulties too. Learning that the Education Authority does not fund the provision of filters in every classroom, the Committee was quick to agree a grant of £995 on behalf of The Drapers’ Company to meet the cost of the units quoted in the application.
