Errigal Boxing Club, Garvagh

Formed in 1964, Errigal Boxing Club is a cross community club for young people from the age of 10 years upwards.  They also cater for anyone wishing to simply keep fit by inviting them to join training nights on Tuesdays and Thursdays – when Covid conditions allow.  The Club has been successful over the years, producing numerous Ulster and Irish champions, and have members who have represented Ireland at International level all over the world and winning medals at European level.  Reliant on local businesses for sponsorship and fund-raising through events that would usually take place over the year (their hugely successful annual tournament was cancelled due to Covid-19), the Club made an application for assistance with the purchase of new leather punch bags and contest gloves.  The Committee accepted that clubs are no longer able to share sports equipment as a result of the pandemic and agreed a grant of £800.
