A community sports organisation situated in the heart of North Tyrone, Fox Lodge Cricket Club was established to provide sporting, recreational and social opportunities for those living in the Ballymagorry and surrounding rural areas. It prides itself on being led by local people for local people – acting as a hub for the community for facilitating cricket and other sporting events or hosting charitable fund-raisers, community open nights and festivals. In an effort to enhance amateur sport and grow their membership following numerous lockdowns, rural isolation issues and increasing costs, the Club applied for assistance with the purchase of much-needed cricket balls for matches and training sessions – especially for young people aged between 15-25. The Committee recognised the need for investment in young people, especially in rural areas, and agreed a grant of £700 obo The Drapers’ Company towards the purchase of 30 Dukes cricket balls.
