Foyle Women’s Aid : we are here – TALK TO US

Established in 1976, Foyle Women’s Aid offers specialist community services to women in the Foyle, Limavady and Strabane areas by providing secure, supported, short term accommodation at confidential locations; working to meet the needs of children and young people who have experienced domestic abuse; and giving information and support if you have to attend court.  In addition, FWA have been leading the campaign for a number of years to create the first co-located. Multi-disciplinary interagency Family Justice Centre in Ireland – providing services to victims of inter-personal violence including intimate partner violence, sexual assault, child abuse, elder or dependent adult abuse and human trafficking.  And ensuring that clients have access to all necessary services in one location to enhance their safety and increase offender accountability.  FWA sought funding to furnish one of the new FJC family rooms.  Recognising that increased instances of domestic abuse and victims living in fear had been another adverse effect of lockdown, the Committee believed the FJCs were a really good resource and offered £2,500 towards the items of furniture costed in the application.  GET HELP from Foyle Women’s Aid through their website, phoning 028 7141 6800, or contacting a National 24HR Domestic & Sexual Violence Helpline on 0800 802 1414.  And find out how to DONATE to Foyle Women’s Aid and make a difference today.
