17th November 2022: The Irish Society recently arranged a game angling seminar in Coleraine which was attended by over 80 anglers, including some young girls who have taken up the sport through a local charity, Ashes to Gold who run Moorbrook Lodge fishery. Speakers were Professor Ken Whelan of the Atlantic Salmon Trust, Dr Richard Kennedy of AFBI Bushmills and Mr Andrew Wallace, Fisheries Director of the Fishmongers’ Company. The main subject matter was Atlantic Salmon, with updates on recent international research initiatives aimed at finding out more about their marine and river lifecycle and current threats to the species
