Garvagh Women’s Institute

The Federation of Women’s Institutes was first formed in Garvagh, Northern Ireland, in 1932.  And, as the founding institute, the GWI intends to celebrate its 90^th Anniversary by planting 90 trees; through special meetings, dinners and fund-raisers; and installing a bench in the town of Garvagh.  GWI applied for £958.80 towards a tree and installation of the bench, which the Committee rounded up and offered an HIS grant of £959.  Check on their progress with tree planting at Plant a Tree for our Future – Garvagh WI .
