Having been selected to represent Team UK, Jessica’s mother applied for “any small contribution or sponsorship” towards the colossal costs (£7k) of her competing at the American Paint Horse Association (APHA) Youth World Games in Fort Worth, Texas, this summer (from 21st June to 7th July). Wishing Jessica “Good Luck”, the Committee agreed an individual grant of £500 towards travel, accommodation, training, clothing, insurance, etc. After the event, Janine Dunlop e-mailed “… to thank The Honourable The Irish Society for their funding – it was very much appreciated by Jessica and us as a family. Jessica placed 7th Individually in the World Show Ranch Riding Class, she placed 5th in the youth world judging class and Team UK placed 7th overall at the World Show Championships. This was an amazing experience for Jessica, she has achieved so much and has grown in confidence. She hopes to inspire others”. Janine also included some pictures of Jessica competing in the Games and said that “if you need Jessica to come talk with you guys about her experience she is more than happy to do so”.
