Promoting and preserving the culture and heritage of Highland Dance tradition in the Limavady area, LHD has successfully fund-raised to purchase swords, kilts and outfits for approx. 35 girls and intended to reward the girls themselves with a fun but educational summertime trip. But, concerned that this would leave their accounts depleted, sought assistance from the Irish Society with dance tuition costs for a 20-week period between April and September 2024. Councillor Callaghan spoke in support of this application, adding that the group do great cross-community work throughout the town alongside local Irish Dance schools and the Ulster Scots Society. On his recommendation, the Committee awarded a grant of £800.
