Londonderry Probus Club

Operating the ‘Re-loved’ charity shop in Glendermott Road, Waterside, and offering a social hub for retired or semi-retired business or professional people in the area, Londonderry Probus Club applied for funding towards the purchase of a Smart TV, Blu-ray player and associated HDMI cabling – which can be used by guest speakers at the Club’s monthly meetings.  Alderman Darren Guy knew many of the members, and was familiar with the charity shop they run.  He suggested the Club was not a wealthy organisation and asked the Committee to round up the grant offer to £950 to include wall brackets (which were not listed in the application) and to maybe obtain some assistance with the installation.  Recognising the strength of Probus Clubs across the North West, this was readily agreed.
