Maghera Strollers Football Club

Formed in 1984 following the amalgamation of Craigmore 80 and Maghera Old Boys, and with a lack of youth soccer structures in the immediate area, Maghera Strollers FC are now in the position to build on demand for and create a vibrant and exciting Youth Academy as part of their vision to promote recreational sport for all boys and girls aged 6-14 through the means of soccer.  In order to get the Academy established, the Club sought funding towards age-appropriate kit including footballs (size 3 and 4), mesh training bibs, ball carriers and training cones.  Cllr Brian McGuigan was familiar with ‘The Strollers’ and, with his backing, the Committee awarded a grant of £700 obo the Drapers’ Company towards the items costed by local supplier Klubsport (Maghera).
