Magherafelt Cross Community Link

Aiming to enhance health and well-being, build safer communities; improve the physical environment; and support local economies, Magherafelt Cross Community Link provides a hub for a wide variety of projects.  Intending to run three summer schemes in August – offering young people a safe space to mix with others they may not have met before, make new friends and learn new skills, MCCL sought funding towards transport for excursions, entry fees, and materials for activities.  Learning that up to 80 young people attend each week, and recognising the need for family respite during the summer holiday period, the Committee agreed a grant of £1,500 obo the Drapers’ Company.  Heather Boyd, Centre Manager, wrote in September to say “All the children had a great time over the 3 weeks, so thank you very much for your grant awardance” and included some photographs from the summer scheme.
