Magherafelt Sky Blues Football Club

Situated in the heart of South Derry, Magherafelt Sky Blues is a grassroots community football club which currently has some 300+ members with over 20 youth and two senior teams.  The Club has always taken great pride in its inclusivity, which is represented by the number of groups (including schools and youth organisations) that use and benefit from its sporting facilities at Spires Park.  To ensure that it can provide accessible and affordable opportunities for all – given the current cost of living crisis, the Sky Blues sought funding towards training and match equipment.  Recognising that financial barriers can restrict some members from participating in physical activity – particularly youth teams, the Committee agreed to a grant of £700 obo The Drapers’ Company towards pop-up goals; training footballs; free kick mannequins; marker cones; and hi-viz bibs.
