Millburn Community Association, Coleraine

Having run two successful and well attended / supported events in the past, Millburn Community Association is planning a Youth Summer Camp for up to 40 children over a three-week period during the school holidays at their Cornfield Project site beside the local estate.  Offering a safe / fun environment to enjoy outdoor play, confidence building through team games, arts and crafts, bee-keeping, survival skills, gardening and much more, MCA sought funding towards facilitated workshops; equipment and materials detailed in their application.  Noting that, without such organised events, many children would probably be stuck indoors playing computer games and the like, the Committee agreed to award an Irish Society grant of £1,000 as requested.
