Naíscoil Charn Tóchair, Maghera

A voluntary unincorporated Irish language playschool located in rural Carntogher, Naíscoil Charn Tóchair has a long-established pedigree of providing early years care and now had the opportunity to extend its provision to after-school childcare for ages 4-11.  Cllr McGuigan was familiar with the playschool, serving the Irish language community, and was very much in support of the application for funding to purchase additional resources to facilitate after-school services.  Recognising their struggle with finances and little spare money, on his recommendation, the Committee agreed a grant of £2,000 on behalf of The Drapers’ Company towards furniture and a range of games and sports kit on their ‘shopping list’.
