Northern Ireland Carriage Driving Association, Randalstown, Co Antrim

Established in 1987, NI Carriage Driving Association is committed to serving its community through a unique sport that caters for all ages.  In addition, the Association planned to run an inclusion project through a Carriage Driving initiative that will educate; engage; and empower people with physical disabilities.  And they sought assistance with the purchase of specific items catering for this group, that will also transfer to supporting young people in the sport – encouraging teamwork skills through collaborative activities and improving self-esteem as participants progress.  As an organisation completely led by volunteers who are dedicated to the promotion, development and advocacy of the timeless art and sport of carriage driving, the Committee endorsed a grant of £700 from The Clothworkers’ NI Fund towards the purchase of equipment for allowing the Association to run inclusion projects.
