Olderfleet Rowing Club, Co. Antrim

Founded in February 2020 – just before the pandemic, ORC was forced to start as a virtual rowing group during Covid with training sessions on rowing machines conducted via Zoom and led by coaches.  This quickly expanded to include rowers from other local, national and international clubs and virtual racing took place with rowers from approx. 38 different countries!  They now have over 70 members from the local and wider community who enjoy an ‘on water’ experience, creating a culture of camaraderie and competitive fun for all from 10 to 60 years of age, and sought funding to purchase four pairs of Swift Racing ‘Club Performance’ Coastal Sculling Oars.  A grant of £500 from the Clothworkers’ NI Fund was endorsed.
