Pushkin Trust

Offering ‘Creative and Inspired Learning since 1987’, The Pushkin Trust works in 600 schools across Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland, and Russia – encouraging children and teachers to find and express their unique voice and discover their imagination, inspiration and integration.  The Trust’s only core funding comes through grants from the Department of Education, with the remainder from the personal generosity of the Abercorn family and donations from people who have bought into the Pushkin ideals as they have developed.  And, with a desire to ensure children with special needs are included, they applied for £2,000 for a facilitator to run sessions at schools in this specialised field.  The Committee heard about the excellent work undertaken by the Trust and offered the full amount requested.
