Serving the local Drumrane community with both Christian worship, bowls, children’s clubs, youth and elderly organisations, and linking to local food banks and other charities, St Eugenius Bovevagh Parish Church applied for funding to enable the purchase of a defibrillator to be attached to an external wall of the church hall and be accessible to the entire community 24/7. The Secretary confirmed that Bovevagh is a very rural area, with the next nearest defibrillators located in the villages of Largy or Gortnahey. Understanding the need to deploy potentially life-saving equipment without delay, the Committee agreed a grant of £1,000 on behalf of The Drapers’ Company towards the unit identified in the application.
