St Mary’s Parish Church, Macosquin

Celebrating their 400^th anniversary this year, St Mary’s has a number of events and activities planned – in particular the erection of a 6m flagpole (costed at £660 + VAT) within their church grounds, providing a focal point for the village of Macosquin to meet for Remembrance Sunday and other occasions.  The church has also been granted permission by Causeway Coast & Glens Borough Council for two new signs at the entrances into the village and sought funding towards suitable surrounds for these.  Noting that the Merchant Taylors have already granted funding of £2,000 to support the 400^th anniversary celebrations, the Committee agreed to match that with an Irish Society grant of £2,000.
