St Mary’s Primary School, Draperstown : “Learning, Caring and Sharing Together”

Having been awarded Forest Schools status, and to mark their 60th Anniversary, St Mary’s PS is on a mission this year to enhance their outdoor play area and shared green space adjacent to the school.  They also intend to link with other (pre and secondary) schools within walking distance, building on their provision and sharing knowledge and skills with the local community.  St Mary’s applied for funding towards a number of ‘messy play’ items (including waterproof overalls – as there is no such things as bad weather, only bad clothing!) to help children learn best outdoors.  Recognising the School’s location in the centre of Draperstown – so already sharing a long-standing history with The Drapers’ Company, the Committee agreed a grant of £1,490 from The Drapers’ fund would be appropriate and to cover the full cost of the items detailed in their application.
