Founded in 1927, St Matthew’s GAC provides indoor and outdoor training to young children and adults seven days a week. And they often run blitzes with neighbouring clubs and beyond to encourage and engage young people to be involved in sport, create life-long friendships, and to build a sense of community. The Club also supports its more senior residents through coffee morning and other social gatherings – so important in a small rural setting to ensure that no-one feels isolated or lacking in care. St Matthews sought funding for the purchase of a new SkiErg fitness machine which will serve the Club and all its many teams across three different disciplines for years to come – and can be used by those who wish to avail themselves of the Club’s small gym. The Committee awarded a grant of £700 obo the Drapers’ Company for this specific piece of kit
