Strabane District Caring Services

SDCS’s Stay Young Group has been operating for a number of years now, providing a social outlet for women aged 50+ in the Strabane area.  They meet weekly and engage with various local activity and educational providers – learning new skills and sharing positive experiences.  The group has also taken part in inter-generational arts and crafts work with local youths, including hand-made toys (comfort teddies) for local emergency services teams to give to children they come into contact with.  Despite the loss of their statutory funding, SDCS  was keen to continue this very worthwhile project and sought funding towards the facilitation of classes and purchase of arts and crafts materials.  The Committee was happy to agree an HIS grant of £1,000 as per SDCS’s request.  Learn more about the Stay Young Ladies Group at Neighbourhood Health Improvement Project (NHIP) | Strabane District Caring Services.
