Strathfoyle Women’s Activity Group, Derry

Operating in an area of disadvantage and high social need, Strathfoyle Women’s Activity Group offers One-to-One Support services in counselling, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), parenting and personal development.  They also provide a self-referral service and aim to become a Trauma Informed Practice.  With the ever-increasing cost of counsellor fees (charged at £35 per session), the Group sought funding towards six sessions each to help six clients.  The Governor suggested meeting the full cost of such important work, and the Committee agreed to an Irish Society grant of £1,260.
