Terry Austin, Coleraine

As a member of the Irish Disabled Fly-Fishing Association , Terry Austin had qualified to represent Ireland in the home International (in Scotland) in June 2022.  Three other team members had been forced to pull out for financial reasons and other disabled anglers had been unable to take up the invitation as costs for the trip were prohibitive.  Expenses include a lifejacket (£90), boat seat (£229), Irish blazer and tie (over £300) plus boat and ghillie hire, fares and accommodation for the week – hence Terry’s application for “any help you can give us”.   The Committee awarded the maximum individual grant of £250, but also sign-posted Ashes to Gold  as a possible additional source of ‘sponsorship’.
