Tullans Red Star Football Club, Coleraine

Established in 2014, Tullans Red Star FC is more than just an amateur football club.  Primarily based in the Windyhall area of Coleraine, they currently have approx. 55 members playing in two teams and competing annually within the Coleraine & District League – both county and regional cup competitions.  In addition, their vision is to encourage youths from within the borough to become involved and active within this community club – aiming to develop and enrich their lives by providing them with the essential tools of life and offering an opportunity to succeed and meet new friends.  The Club sought funding towards the purchase of video recording equipment with software to conduct technical analysis of their matches – which will help with training for their younger players; and enable them to share some of their teams’ best moments with the wider community and beyond.  Various members of the Committee commented on the Club’s work with the Council to offer football as a diversionary tool and take youngsters off the streets and attempts to engage with youth out of season.  As a result, the full amount of £1,807 was awarded – covering a camera with 360o capability; accessories and a year’s subscription for the software.
