Zero Waste North West, Derry

Promoting the reduction of residential and commercial waste by re-using, re-cycling and product re-design, Zero Waste North West applied for funding towards video conferencing facilities to run hybrid / in-person training and meetings from their Zero Waste Hub in Spencer Road, Derry.  Together with publicity to let people know what the charity is offering.  Cllr Angela Dobbins knows the group, has attended meetings with them and confirmed they do sterling work.  She believed DC&SDC was head and shoulders above other councils in waste management, but the Committee recognised that more could be done by everyone with the right help from such as ZWNW.  A grant of £800 was therefore awarded to cover the cost of conference camera equipment.
