With membership drawn from across all Ireland (currently a third from NI, including three from Derry), The Irish Doctors Choir keeps doctors singing together despite the demands of their busy careers. Performing for the first time ever in Derry City on Sunday 20 November, the Choir sought funding to enable streaming for a paying audience who cannot be present at the event and/or an audio-visual recording to be made. Cllr Sandra Duffy confirmed that the date was already in her diary to attend, and she was happy to support these very talented people. And, learning that net ticket receipts would be donated to charity (in this case Children in Crossfire, also supported with a grant of £1,000 by the Irish Society in October 2021), the Committee agreed a grant of £900.
